On-going Problems Syncing Across Multiple Devices.

I just wanted to give a more recent update on the status of syncing across devices. As I have reported before, I have three devices running Moviebase. I have a primary device where I do most updates and two secondary devices. As of version 6.12.4:

Progress has certainly been made since the release of version 6.

The new message that shows when a sync is being done is a nice addition. It removes some guesswork.

Some parts of synchronization seem to be working pretty well. When new shows are started, they will show up on Progress on the secondary devices. Changes in personal list contents seem to sync pretty well.

There is still one big remaining problem. Watched episode syncing is very poor. It happens sometimes, but mostly it just doesn’t work. Episodes that I mark as watched just don’t ever get posted to the secondary devices. I can’t give you an exact percentage, but far more don’t get posted than do. I have tried running the sync from the database option on the secondary devices, and that doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Many episodes still don’t show up as watched on the secondary devices. Also, the watched episodes that don’t transfer over are not consistent between the two secondary devices. The only way I can make them all work is to mark them watched again on the secondary devices.

It would really be nice to get these issues fixed once and for all.
